Woman Dies in Rear-End Crash on Highway 99 [Sacramento, CA] Female Passenger Killed in Dump-Truck Collision near US-50SACRAMENTO, CA (August 25, 2023) – Monday afternoon, one woman was killed in a rear-end crash on Highway 99.Officers responded to the scene around 2:21 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near US 50.Per reports, the driver of a Toyota sedan rear-ended a Peterbilt dump-truck in the No. 2 lane. Investigators say the dump-truck started slowing down while traveling north, but the sedan driver failed to stop on time.Medics arrived and transported the male driver of the Toyota to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Person standing outside van on I-580 shoulder fatally hit by SUV DUBLIN — A two-car crash killed a person standing on the shoulder of Interstate 580 early Sunday, the California Highway Patrol said.The wreck happened about 2:35 a.m. on the right shoulder of westbound I-580, east of Eden Canyon Road.According to the CHP, the driver of a white 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer veered onto the shoulder and hit a 2021 Ford E-Transit van.
